Meet Our New Assistant Principal - Dr. Leibold!

Welcome to Jenkins Middle School! My name is Dr. Michelle Leibold, and I am proud to serve as your Assistant Principal. I bring over a decade of experience as an educator and school leader across both middle and high school settings. My background includes teaching English, developing curriculum, mentoring teachers, coordinating schoolwide testing, and supporting students through MTSS, discipline, and individualized learning plans.

I hold a Doctorate in K–12 Educational Leadership, a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, and dual Master of Arts degrees in English and Teaching. I began my career with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and my academic journey has shaped my passion for instructional leadership, ethical decision-making, and creating positive school cultures where students feel supported and capable.

Throughout my career, I have focused on strengthening instructional practices, building collaborative teams, and developing systems that help students grow academically and personally. Whether I am supporting teachers, partnering with families, or working directly with students, my goal is always to help every learner feel valued, capable, and connected.

Outside of school, I enjoy exploring Colorado, reading, and spending time with my family. I am thrilled to be part of the Jenkins community and look forward to getting to know our students and families. Together, we will make this school year one of growth, opportunity, and success.

Meet Our Principal!

My educational philosophy is simple; as an educational leader, it is imperative to create an environment where students feel safe and cared for and, as a result, are willing to take academic risks and work to reach their full potential.  I believe it is essential for educators to know and understand each student as an individual so that a specific learning plan can be developed to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of each and every student. 

In addition, a key component for success of any school requires the collaboration of parents, guardians, staff, and community members to work together in supporting our students in the educational process.  As a team, it is important to provide programming that maximizes the students’ learning experiences and inspires each child to reach his or her highest potential.

As an educational leader, it is imperative to actively listen, observe, and gather information from all stakeholders on a continuous basis.  With open and continued communication with all stakeholder groups, one can foster a collaborative environment where all students develop intellectually, social, and emotionally.  To maximize any educational program, it is optimal to maintain trust, respect, and open communication.  Together, working as partners with parents/guardians, the community, and teacher groups, we can put the needs of our students first.
